The 2nd Annual Lee County Wildlife Expo brought together landowners, conservationists, and outdoor enthusiasts for a full day of hands-on education and resource sharing at Giddings High School on July 25, 2025.

Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District kicked off the day a packed Groundwater 101 session from 8:30–9:30 a.m. Attendees learned about the science behind our aquifers, how groundwater is managed in Texas, and the laws that govern its use. The presentation sparked great questions and conversations from local landowners eager to better understand the resource flowing beneath their feet.

We were also thrilled to host a Rain Barrel DIY Kit giveaway exclusively for folks who signed up for our monthly newsletter. Congratulations to our winners! These kits are a great way to start harvesting rainwater and conserving groundwater at home.

Thank you to the Lee County Wildlife Association and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension – Lee County for organizing another fantastic event. We’re already looking forward to next year!
