The District's operations are paid for by fees paid by large volume pumpers such as industry and municipal water supply companies. A large volume well is considered to be any well that can pump more than 25,000 gallons per day (by comparison, an average household only uses about 330 gallons per day).
Small to Medium Wells Exempt
Nearly all home and agricultural wells are "exempt" from the District's rules. That means they do not pay fees and are not metered.
